WEST Oxfordshire is the second lowest place for number of adult cigarette smokers in the UK.

The figures have been published by the Office for National Statistics and included the estimated proportion of people aged 18 and over who were current smokers in 2021.

In West Oxfordshire only 3.7 per cent of adults are smokers compared to the 12.1 per cent in 2020.

Oadby and Wigston came in with the lowest percentage at 3.2 per cent.

South Oxfordshire has 9.2 per cent of adults smoking in 2021 compared to 17.9 per cent in 2020 placing it on the lower end of the list also.

The place with the most amount of adult smokers is Fenland at 27.8 per cent followed by Hastings with 25.8 per cent and Mansfield with 24.8 per cent.
