Stuck for plans this New Year's Eve? Never fear.

Arguably the biggest night of the year has gained notoriety for being a last-dash "oh where do you go?!" type of event. You're not on your own.

Whether it be at home with family or friends or out with family and friends, you only deserve the best.

If you fancy a big one, well, you deserve that too (as long as everyone else does). So with that in mind, we've drawn up a list of the top 5 bars and clubs in Oxford.

All the below is from Tripadvisor. If you're planning to visit any of the venues on New Year's Eve you must consider the possibility of it being tickets only, full up, or not open for some other reason.

Call ahead before checking one out.

Junkyard Golf Club Oxford

Three mashed-up golf courses that will take you on a twisted journey. Whether you care about winning or are just in for the ride, remember, the loser always buys the drinks."

Reviews: "I thoroughly enjoyed this experience, would highly recommend, immy and I won so made it 10x better but obviously we’re the coats. Lots of love".

"Such a fun place to go and the staff are lovely! Good vibes and good drinks, Calib was such a laugh too!"

Reviews: "Great food. Beautiful place. The waiter Mirko was very nice and helpful. The excellent service he provided enhanced the overall experience."

"We booked The Lighthouse for cocktails for a family member's 30th birthday. The location was great, and the venue had a great atmosphere. Most importantly, the cocktails were incredible! We tried so many different ones - the best for me was the Bramble. We only booked for an hour but we could have stayed for the evening. The service was really fast, despite us ordering cocktails for a group at a time. Also really great value between certain hours."
