Witney Air Training Corps is delighted to be involved with the 2010 carnival in cooperation with the Lions, Rotary Club and Round Table.

The ATC offers many opportunities to girls and boys aged 13-18.

Gliding, flying, shooting and expedition training are just a few of the activities it offers.

The ATC also has a training syllabus, enabling cadets to study for BTEC qualifications in Aviation Studies and Public Services, as well as the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Cadets also have the chance to spend a week at camp at RAF bases in the UK and abroad, where they will see the day-to-day work of the Royal Air Force, as well having an opportunity to fly on board military aircraft.

The squadron meets at The Batt School, Witney, on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 7pm.

The ATC also welcomes adults, with or without a military background, who may be interested in becoming civilian instructors and assisting with the cadets’ development and training.

The ATC Civilian Welfare Committee continues to offer welcome support to the squadron, and as commanding officer I would like to thank them for assistance in preparing and participating in this year’s carnival.

Last year’s carnival was a great success and the organising committee are sure that this year it will be even better.

The cadets and staff look forward to meeting you on July 10 at The Leys or in the town, where we will be raising funds for the local community.
