DANNY Hylton says Oxford United need to ignore the unique challenges posed by a trip to Accrington Stanley if they are to secure back-to-back wins on the road.

Spirits are high in the U’s camp after a 2-1 win at York City on Tuesday and they have prepared well after staying in the north for the past four nights.

A visit to the Crown Ground’s modest facilities is not one other clubs relish, but Hylton, who netted his fifth goal of the campaign in midweek, stressed the visitors must focus on what counts.

“It’s not the nicest place to go to,” he said.

“The changing rooms are small, there’s one shower and one toilet.

“It’s cramped, it’s damp, the pitch is tight and they work hard.

“This year they’re not just a team that works hard, they are playing good football and scoring goals.

“We have to make sure we are on our game and if we do I’m sure we can win.”

Accrington go into the game as Sky Bet League Two’s form team, having won their previous four games.

It is the club’s best start to a season for 59 years and they have the added incentive of going top of the table if results go their way today.

United have only won on one of their past four visits and agonisingly lost 1-0 to a last-gasp Terry Gornell goal in February.

Danny Rose, who was an unused substitute that night, is under no illusions of how difficult the game will be.

“I guess people look at it on paper and say we’re a big club in this league and they’re a small club, so we should win, but football isn’t as simple as that.

“They’ve had a very good start and we have to respect that, but we’re certainly going there to get the three points.

“It’s always dangerous when you play against teams that have low expectations in terms of their budget and the size of club they are.

“That’s why they can have a carefree attitude and throw men forward, so you have to be wary of that.

“We have to have the right game plan to deal with that.”
