HARVEY Dodman-Edwards scored a hat-trick of tries as Witney ran riot in a 59-17 victory over Trowbridge.

The west Oxfordshire side crossed nine times in the South West 1 East encounter to move up to fourth in the table.

Trowbridge’s David Davis kicked an early penalty, but two three-pointers from George Lewis gave Witney a 6-3 lead after 15 minutes.

The visitors scored the first try of the afternoon, with David Finlay crossing and Ashley Chalk converting, but they were soon down to 14 men after Sean Jones was sin-binned.

Witney took full advantage as they scored three tries in ten minutes to storm into a 23-10 lead at half-time.

Louie Collins sped across the line and Lewis added the extras, before Matt Clarke ran in from 40 metres for an unconverted score.

Clarke then touched down for a similar individual try.

The hosts were soon into their stride after the break and on 43 minutes Lewis converted his own score to extend their lead to 30-10.

Brilliant passing and running in the backs and forwards led to two tries from Harvey Dodman-Edwards, with Lewis converting one of the scores.

And replacement prop Robbie Richardson added to the scoreline on 52 minutes.

Lewis added the extras to make it 49-10.

Trowbridge fly-half Davis was yellow carded and once again Witney made the most of their advantage.

Scrum half Arron Lambourne side-stepped his way through to the line to score a brilliant indivudual try.

The visitors fought back and Chalk scored and converted to make it 54-17.

But the hosts had the last say when Dodman-Edwards ran half the length of the pitch to score his hat-trick.

In the BB&O Championship, Chipping Norton were beaten 17-10 at home by Crowthorne.
