DANNY Hylton has hailed Oxford United’s goalkeepers for their fine form this season.

Both Sam Slocombe and Benji Buchel have been given runs in the side by head coach Michael Appleton.

Slocombe, who signed in the summer after his release from Scunthorpe United, has made 26 appearances in all competitions, while Lichtenstein international Buchel has played 13 times.

Striker Hylton says it has not mattered who has been between the sticks, as both keepers have proven to be a safe pair of hands.

“We have got two very good keepers and they are both No 1s,” said the striker.

“They both work really hard each every day and whoever plays, like the outfield players, we fully believe in and trust them.

“Making important saves is what they are there for and paid to do.

"It is why we give them a big cuddle at the end.”
