SANDFORD St Martin 2nd racked up an incredible 250-0 dec as they brushed aside hosts Bicester & North Oxford 2nd by 100 runs in Cherwell League Division 7.

Colin Simpson (118no) and Jim Howe (107no) both carried their bats, before Ben Ackland-Snow took 4-36 and Nick Best 3-36 in Bicester’s 150.

Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd crashed to a 200-run defeat at home to Oxford 4th.

Mark Sheehan’s 109 and Tom Partridge’s 87 helped the visitors to 302-6, before Matt Todd (4-27) helped skittle Shipton for 102.

Oxford Downs marched on at the top of Division 2 with a seven-wicket victory at home to Wolverton Town.

The visitors were shot out for 110 in 45.1 overs, as all five Downs’ bowlers took two wickets.

Downs lost captain and opener Wasim Mehmood early on, but Will Watts (63no) and George Sandbach (35) broke the back of the run chase as Downs eased home inside 21 overs.

Great & Little Tew 2nd had to settle for a draw at home to local rivals Sandford St Martin.

Henry Woodward (54), Markus Jeacock (50) and Josh Garrett (44no) helped Great Tew to set 245-5 in their 53 overs. In reply, Sandford chased hard but finished on 206-7, Steve Dobson top-scoring with 57.

Craig Wood took 5-35 as Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd beat struggling visitors Oxford Downs 2nd by 36 runs in Division 3.

Shipton had an unlikely hero in No 10 Joe Cockroft, who hit 46 not out to help the hosts from 134-9 to 178 all out, spinner Jonny Meardon taking 4-42 for Downs.

Darryl Woods led Downs’ reply with 34, but Wood kept chipping away and they were bowled out for 142.

In Division 4, Witney Mills needed tail-end resistance from Nos 9 & 10 Steve Kelly (30) and Tom Mayho (31) to reach 155 at East Oxford, for whom Chetan Walia took 5-45 and Atif Ali 3-28.

Ali Shah (43) and Johannes Jacobus (34) gave the hosts a rapid start, but the middle order struggled against Simon Haselgrove (4-57) and they only scrambled home by two wickets in the 30th over.

Sam Barnes’s brilliant unbeaten 162 was not quite enough for Great & Little Tew 3rd, who had to settle for a draw at home to East Oxford 2nd in Division 6.

Opener Barnes slammed his career best score as Tew racked up 306-7.

East Oxford put up a great chase, led by Bilal Ahmed’s 116 and Amir Butt’s 61. But they closed on 279-8.

In Division 8, Witney Mills 2nd edged out visitors Cumnor 3rd by one run.

Andy Cannons (55no) led Mills to 195-3, and Cumnor fell just short on 194 with one ball left.
